Program at a glance
- Business name
- Altech Insurance Agency
- Program name
- Altech Insurance client portal verification
- What we send
- One-time passcodes (2FA) for client portal identity verification. No marketing, no promotions, no sales messages.
- Who receives messages
- Existing Altech Insurance policyholders who have asked for a passcode by text, either by choosing to sign in with their phone number or by choosing a texted code at the policy-verification step. In both cases the number must already be on file for that policy.
- Message frequency
- About one message per sign-in or verification attempt. There is no recurring or scheduled messaging.
- Cost
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Help
- Reply HELP to any message, or call us at 360-573-3080.
- Opt out
- Reply STOP to any message. You can still verify your identity by email instead, so opting out never locks you out of your policy.
How you opt in, step by step
Consent is collected in our client portal. There are two ways in, depending on whether we have an email address on file for you, and both are an active choice: the text option is never preselected, and we never text a passcode unless you ask for one. In both cases the passcode goes only to a number already recorded on your policy, never to a number typed in by whoever is at the keyboard.
Signing in with your phone number
For clients who do not use email, this is the way in. Choosing the phone option and submitting your number is the opt-in.
A policyholder opens the client portal
An existing Altech Insurance client goes to https://www.altechinsurance.com/portal and chooses "Use my phone" instead of "Use my email". Email is the default; the phone option is not preselected.
They enter their own mobile number and submit
Submitting the number is the opt-in, and the consent language above appears on that screen, next to the field. No text is sent to a number that is not already recorded on a policy: if the number does not match a client file, nothing is sent and no account is created.
We send one passcode
We text a single 6-digit code, valid for 15 minutes, to that on-file number. Entering the code signs the client in and confirms which policy is theirs.
Signing in with your email
Clients who do have an email on file sign in that way, and can still ask for the verification passcode by text.
A policyholder opens the client portal
An existing Altech Insurance client goes to https://www.altechinsurance.com/portal and enters their email address. We email them a secure sign-in link; there is no password. Nothing is texted at this stage.
They confirm which policy is theirs
After signing in, the client is asked to identify their policy by policy number, or by last name and ZIP code. Before we show any policy information, we verify the person by sending a 6-digit one-time passcode to a contact method already recorded on that policy.
They actively choose how to receive the passcode
The client picks the delivery channel. "Email me a code" is preselected; "Text me a code" is not. SMS is sent only if the client deliberately switches to "Text me a code" and then submits the form. Choosing that option is the opt-in. No text is ever sent to a client who does not select it.
We send one passcode
We text a single 6-digit code, valid for 15 minutes, to the mobile number already on file for that policy. The client enters the code to finish verifying and reach their policy documents.
What the opt-in screen looks like
Because policy information sits behind a sign-in, the screens below reproduce both opt-in points exactly as a policyholder sees them, including the consent language shown at the moment of opt-in. These are images of our interface, not working forms.
